A year to remember, a feat steeped in history. Domotek Volley closed its triumphant run with an explosion of joy and records. Speaking was Technical Director Billy Gurnari, who, with his usual passion, described the emotions of a perfect run.
“An extraordinary, beautiful return to the future,” Gurnari began, still visibly moved. But how many emotions have there been in these past few weeks? “Talking about emotions and putting them together is a continuous flow,” says the technical director, “because they began in the final part of the season, let’s say two months ago. They began with the Del Monte Italian Cup, the Italian Super Cup, and the playoff run where nothing was a given. A succession of emotions, one after another, and then the sweet ‘at the end’—in short, the final day that almost seemed destined to end this way. Even though we would have liked, from a purely sporting standpoint, to have done it the week before, it means it was written this way.”
