The A3 playoff final reaches an important crossroads: it’s time for the second act. Tomorrow (Sunday, May 10th, 6:00 PM) at the VHV Arena, Belluno Volley will play for a chance to extend their series against Domotek Reggio Calabria. They’ll also have the chance to take the game a thousand kilometers south for the decisive Game 3, possibly scheduled for Sunday the 17th.
PERSONAL STRENGTH – After the 3-1 defeat at Pala Botteghelle, the Rhinos are called upon to deliver a performance of both technical and mental strength. As Stefano Giannotti, his team’s top scorer last Wednesday with 18 points, emphasized: “Domotek is a solid team, with a game system that works, and even when they find themselves down by a few points, they don’t lose their composure or lose their clarity or concentration.” It’s in these folds, according to the opposite, that the gap emerged: in the Calabrians’ ability to consistently stay in the game. “In the end,” he adds, “the Amaranto managed to bring home the result, repeating what they’ve always done throughout the volleyball season.”
WARNING – Belluno Volley, on the other hand, paid dearly for small lapses in composure. Especially in the opening set, which slipped away by a hair’s breadth despite being controlled for a long time: “We need to be more focused. I’m thinking of the first set, where we didn’t manage a four-point lead well. This way, we gradually lose confidence and let them catch up.” Words that sound like a warning. Because the white-and-blue striker is convinced that the gap can be bridged, provided they raise their level at key moments: “We can compete against a team that, right now, has shown they have something extra in the decisive moments, when the ball must be put down without too many compliments.”
