Society history
La Zinella è nata come Unione Sportiva nel 1972 partendo dal campionato maschile di 2a Divisione. Nel 78 giunge alla Serie C1. Parallelamente la Pallavolo Bologna retrocedeva dall'A1 all'A2. La Zinella l'anno successivo assorbiva la società allenata da Nerio Zanetti e partecipava al campionato di A2. Alla fine dell'estate del 1990 si fonde con la Pencus Bologna, dando vita alla Pencus Zinella Volley.
