For the first time in five years he’s not a bench warmer anymore, playing in the place of Giuseppe Sorcinelli, injured during the match with Padova.
Rigatelli will turn 39 next Saturday, at the very eve of the match Verona – Treviso.
“To say I’m glad is not enough -he says- I can’t be anything but deeply satisfied. I dreamt a lot of such an occasion, it pays back all the trust that the team gave me and all the effort I put in playing in the last years. To play and work is not easy”. “I have to thank every single member of the team -he went on- for everybody supported me a lot, from the technical crew to all the players”.
In the very moment he went down on court, he had precise targets: “I wanted to make as few mistakes as I could. I tried to be very balanced in servings and blocking. I really had the chance to enter the game and thhis way to help Ramon Gato, who after leaving defence a bit could go back on high levels in attack”.
Now Verona sees playoffs with Perugia just three scores ahead. “It is right to first think at the certitude of keeping category -Rigatelli says- now we can even think to the playoffs but we must be aware that we have to play every match at our best”.
The next match is with Sisley Treviso.
“I hope Sorcinelli will be fit for that day -Rigatelli states- but if he would be still injured, I’m ready to make what the coach says”.
