MACERATA – Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo steps on the accelerator from the first ball of the match and Lube Banca MArche Macerata gets a wrong start like they did with Modena.De Giorgi’s formation is more reactive, with Martin Lebl and the ex Omrcen guiding the catch up and the over taking. The home team defends its advantage attacking and thanks to Cuneo’s mistakes which ends the set due to Lasko’s wrong serve (25-22). Silvano Prandi changes the diagonal setter/diagonal player in the second set, with Marlon and Rosso replacing Gonzalez and Lasko. Captain Wijsmans signs the winning point before technical time out and this time Macerata does not manage to find the right key to turn the situation around. Cuneo’s serves gets more dangerous making it difficult for Vermiglio, who can only give high balls easy to block. The third set is dominated by balance but Bre Banca Lannutti does a runner and wins it. Macerata’s heart starts beating again in the fourth set, Corsano and Paparoni want it more than anyone else at tie break. Lube gets good at blocking and win the set 25-22. Cuneo keeps its calm and flies to victory in the fifth set with Lasko and Wijsmans’ s attacks, getting two points in the standings. Still no victories in this season for Lube.

Sebastian Swiderski (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “We have been together for a little time and we cannot play fluently, mechanisms need to be worked on and only time will help. Shame to have lost the first hoime match but we will have the chance to do better against Corigliano”.

Wout Wijsmans (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “ I am very happy because it is the first time we win in Macerata. We starte with a young and motivated team but not so good on paper so we need to sweat to get points match after match; up to now we showed our qualities though”.

MVP: Wout Wijsmans (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo)

TREVISO – Sisley Volley after Corigliano’s turn around, is defeated 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22) in their first home match of the season by Acqua Paradiso Montichiari. It’s an historical vicory at Palaverde for J Velasco’s team taking the team towards the top of the standings. Sisley standing still: they could make up for it on sunday the 7th (18.00) against RPA Perugia at home. Velasco’ team starts ahead but it’s a first set full of mistakes from both sides. Balance at the end (20-20) then Acqua PAradiso takes off and wins 25-22. Montichiari starts well in the second set too and forcing the serves and with an unstoppable blocking they close 25-19. Dal Zotto tries to change the energy of the match and puts Saitta, Horstink and Kral on court (replacing Pujol, Cisolla and Hubner) but Montichiari keeps leading the dance and wins 25-22.. Renan Dal Zotto (Sisley Treviso): “Bad performance, nothing to say, It is a shame because we did it in front of our supporters. We have not learnt from the previous defeat against Corigliano, there is no alibi for such a negative performance. Better digging but not a good enough attack”.

Julio Velasco (Acqua Paradiso Gabeca Montichiari): “We know that at his stage teams like Sisley are still preparing for the season and we were good at taking advantage of the situation. It is just a matter of time for them though. We got 3 very useful points for the standings”.

MVP: Luciano De Cecco (Acqua Paradiso Gabeca Montichiari)

TRENTO – Itas Diatec Trentino’bulgarian tradition (Nikolov and Kaziyski 45 points between the two) makes up for their defeat against Cuneo and takes over Modena at the end of a very entertaining match. Trento closed the match in four sets even though it looked like Modena could have taken them to the fifth set a few times. Stoytchev’s formation attacked better though, served more efficiently and was able to count on two constant offensive terminals, which did not happen on the other side. Radostin Stoytchev (Itas Diatec Trentino): “Our team spirit and sacrifice has paid off tonight, especially digging; I am very happy about the result that proves we are not the team seen in Cuneo”. Andrea Giani (Cimone Modena): “We mainly lost the set in the third set when we did not manage to catch them up. Still, I am pleased about how the team reacted throught the whole match”.
