THE FUND RAISING STARTS AT PALALIDO IN MILAN

The joint efford between the Men’s Serie A Volleyball League and Spazio Prevenzione Onlus starts from Milan’s PalaLido. On the 2nd of february, for the Sparkling-M. Roma Volley’s match, a collection point will be activated to raise funds for the “Give me five, give me a record, a challenge on children’s side” project.
The Volleyball League and Spazio Prevenzione Onlus would like to enter the Guinness book of records by realising the biggest coins mosaic in the world. The current record belongs to Yoko Ono who put together 2.546.270 coins in 2004.
The challenge will support the “On children’s side” project, aimed at offering a free personalised psycotherapy service to children with cancer and their families.

This morning the Indesit Champions League’s draws for the play offs took place in Luxembourgh, scheduled for the 13th and 20th of february. It was already in the ais and now confirmation arrived: it will be a derby between Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO and Copra Nordmeccanica PIACENZA, first leg in Cuneo.
For the Italian Champions of Sisley Treviso, Spanish team of Portol Mallorca was picked, team already met and beaten twice in the Main Phase.
For Daniele Bagnoli and Matey Cernic’s Dinamo Mosca, the opponents will be German VfB Friedrichshafen. Derby for French Cannes and Paris Volley.
Chosen the site of the CEV Cup for the Final Four. Confirmed the organisation for Polish SKRA Belchatow who, in this case, are automatically going through to the final phase which will take place in Lodz on the 29th and 30th of march.

M. ROMA VOLLEY meets OLYMPIACOS

The Challenge Round’s grid has been drawn today for the Challenge Cup, competition involving M. Roma Volley.
Partecipating in this phase are the eight teams who won the quarter finals and the top three from the first phase of the Indesit European Champions League: Buducnost PODGORICKA (MNE), Noliko MAASEIK (BEL), Iraklis THESSALONIKI (GRE) and Olympiacos PIRAEUS (GRE). First Leg on the 13th of february, Second Leg on the 20th.
The grid will be completed tomorrow because two matches of the second leg still have to be played. Roma already knows who their opponents are, Greece Olympiacos.
The four winners will go through to the Final Four scheduled for the 22nd and the 23rd of march.

You cannot say the Challenge Cup’s Final Eight have been easy for Pallavolo Modena. Halkbank Ankara has given a hard time to Andrea Giani’s men who, after the victory at tie break in the first leg, they have been defeated with the same result last night and they had to win the Golden Set (14-16) to go through.
In the quarter finals, Pallavolo Modena will have to deal with Poland Azs Olsztyn who eliminated Germany Berlin.
The first leg will be played at PalaPanini on the 13th of february (+/- one day).
