Trentino completed an unbelievable run of 18 months of success. After the league title and the Champions League, it won the Club World Championship which took place in Doha, Qatar. The Italian club makes history and enters into the elite of world volleyball thanks to this 3-0 win over the Polish team of Belchatow in the final. It showed a great team effort to come back and win the first set before dominating the rest of the encounter.

“I’ve always dreamt of the World Champion title, since I was a little boy – said coach Radostin Stoytchev – I couldn’t win it as a player, I made it today as a coach and this is a double satisfaction. My team has been great as usual in every moment of the event and of this game in particular. We knew it was going to be hard and so it was, especially in the first set when Belchatow tried to surprise us. We remained focused, composed, keeping the tactic set before the game and we won that set, which allowed us to win the game. From the second set on, things were easier, and nothing could stop us anymore. We have also been very lucky that the event was back on after 17 years without it, just when we won the Champions League. Otherwise, we would never have been able to win it but we were the strongest team, overcoming the problems linked to the limited preparation with the Golden Formula. This triumph marks the end of a cycle but we want to get back to work from tomorrow to open immediately a new one”.
