Champions League third round results
The third round of the Champions League is over and Piacenza is in real danger following its second defeat. It lost on Tuesday 3-1 home against Panathinaikos and are now third of its group. Only wins for the rest of the phase will get Lorenzetti’s team to the next stage. Macerata suffered its first defeat in Belgium against Maaseik. De Giorgi’s boys are still top, though, with the same number of points of Maaseik (better set quotient for the Italians).
The only Italian team to triumph is Trentino, who totally outplayed the Russians of Dynamo Moscow on Wednesday. Thanks to this 20th consecutive win in international competitions (15 in the Champions League), Stoytchev’s team is top of its group. The next round is scheduled from the 5th to the 7th.
