The news has been revealed this morning: Bassano’s new head coach is Mario Di Pietro. The 49 year old has a prestigious career behind him, which highlights are: his years as assistant spent in Bergamo, where he won everything there was to be won and an Italian and Cev cup at Cuneo. From 2008 onwards, he concentrated on the youth department of Trento and last year in Padova.
“I know the current A2 championship as I followed it from Padova – said Di Pietro – I know the team a little bit too, I’ve seen them this year. It might not be a brilliant team but it certainly isn’t a team that should be towards the bottom of the league table. I’m sure we’ll be able to do well and get out of this tricky situation”.
