Padova reached an agreement with coach Paolo Montagnani for this season and with an option for 2010-11. His assistant will be Simone Roscini, who had momentarily worked as head coach and for which the club would like to thank him.
Born in 1968, Montagnani won promotion in A2 with Livorno as a player (he was a setter) in 1986-87, he won the Cup Winners Cup with Milan in 1993 and made his debut as assistant coach in 2005 in his Livorno. In 2007-08, he became Gulinelli’s assistant at Latina. His head coach debut occurred the following season at Pineto as he managed to stay up in the A1. Following this good season, he got the call from Taranto, where he stayed until the 24th of December 2009.
