Isernia completed the middleblocker area with the arrival of a very strong player: Maikel Cristobal Cardona, a Caribbean with an Italian passport. Nicknamed ‘El bombardero’ Cardona was born in 1976 and arrived in Italy in 1998 with Ravenna. He spent his main years in Cuneo, staying there five seasons (2000-2005) and winning the Cev Cup, the Italian Cup and the Super Cup. Piacenza, Modena, Latina, Forlì and Cavriago were his next stops. Finally, last seasons, he played for Carpi in B1.
“I am getting back up on my feet – said Cardona – Many have not shown faith in me. Last year I have worked extremely hard to get back in form after my injury, now I am ready. It’s been a great season in Carpi, I played at my level and made the difference”.
