Monza made the court advantage count by beating Modena at the tie-break. Gavotto was unstoppable (56% in attack) and was named MVP.

Simone Buti (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “There’s not much difference between the two teams, and I am convince each game will be like that, very close. In the end, I think the team that will show more character will clinch it. It’s true that going there with a game lead gives us a lot of motivation, we have two match-points: We’ll go to Modena aiming to seal it. It would be an unbelievable satisfaction to go through and do so in Modena”.

Creus Larry (Casa Modena): “It’s been a very tight game, the team that managed to stay more composed clinched it. Shame for us, we wasted some opportunities making mistakes in the end”.

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA – SISLEY TREVISO 2-3 (21-25, 17-25, 28-26, 26-24, 9-15)

The pride of Treviso did not allow the numerous fans to celebrate in Cuneo. Treviso won it at the tie-break and cancelled the first of three match points. The two teams will meet again for Game 4 on Monday but in Treviso. In the tie-break, the guest escaped from the start (8-3) thanks to some powerful serving from Bjelica, Fei and Horstink, and they never looked back.

Mauro Berruto (coach Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “We made so many mistakes, too many, then we did well in the third and fourth set, but to win those games you have to play from the start. Treviso served very well at the start of the tie-break, they immediately created a gap, which was too big to get back. Game 4 ? We have to win it, and start playing again on our strengths, that is to say aggressiveness in attack and on the serve”.

Roberto Piazza (coach Sisley Treviso): “The game could have been over a lot sooner If we had not made that many mistakes. In the third set for example, we really wasted a great opportunity. Now we’ll have to be determined at 100% in Game 4 to further extend this series”.
