Game 3 – Semi-finals

Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo – Lube Banca Marche Macerata

(1-1)

Past encounters: 58 (31-27 Cuneo)

Giuseppe Patriarca (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “It was obvious it was going to be a long and difficult series: these are the playoff semi-finals and our opponent is strong and tough. It’s normal that each game is a battle. We were a bit disappointed with the way the second set of Game 2 ended. With a different outcome, the game could have gone differently. On Saturday, we’ll do everything possible not to make the same mistakes: at times we lacked effectiveness, we can improve on that and do a lot better. Now we want to win on Saturday and go back to Macerata with a 2-1 lead”.

Facundo Conte (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “The way things went in Game 2 was perfect. We would never have imagined such a beautiful script, if we were given the chance to write it. Now that the series is even, it will be up to us to make the breakthrough in their arena. Game 3 will be extremely tough: Cuneo proved it was a great team on Wednesday and to beat them, we’ll have to play again at a very high level, with great intensity and consistency. We are confident”.

Itas Diatec Trentino – Casa Modena

(1-1)

Past encounters: 35 (21-14 Trento)

Giuseppe Cormio (General Manager Itas Diatec Trentino): “All our energy are concentrated on this game, a crucial one. I am convinced that with our strength and humbleness, our main characteristics of the recent seasons, we will be able to get back on our feet and play up to our standards in Game 3. We have the best possible coach to handle such situation and hopefully Stokr’s comeback will give us a good alternative compared to the line up of Game 2”.

Bruninho (Casa Modena): “The first two games of this series have been clear wins, first for them and then for us. Everything is back at 0-0 now. Trentino will certainly be upset after Thursday’s defeat and it will be keen to redeem itself. Besides, they are the World champions, they are extremely strong and remains the favourite for the title. We’ll have to be aggressive and obviously the serve will be one of the keys of the game, for both teams. Me and my teammates, we’re going to Trento extremely focused, we want to play well and try to play at our best”.
