The game against Latina was the first of two finals which would have led Roma to the playoffs. By winning the derby and then the game against Piacenza, Giani’s team would still have needed positive results from San Giustino and Vibo Valentia, but at least it would have finished the season without any regrets. Instead, the derby was lost.
“I was convinced the game would have gone differently – said coach Giani – We had trained very well during the week. Once again we lacked character and determination”.
