A press conference took place in Andria to present the Italian Cup Final Four, event organised by the Italian Volleyball League in collaboration with the Andria town hall, the FIPAV Committee of the Puglia region and the Idea 12 Association.

The event will take place in Andria. On March 3, there will be the semi-finals: Segrate versus Molfetta and Castellana Grotte versus Perugia. The final will be played the next day.

The last time the Puglia region hosted the event was in 2006 in Casarano and a local side won the trophy: Salento d’Amare Taviano. There is huge interest already as two local teams will take part: Castellana Grotte and Molfetta.

“Andria has all the needed potential to be an important venue for volleyball – said Italian Volleyball League CEO Massimo Righi – It is surrendered by many top level volleyball clubs. Andria is a dynamic and active city as far as sport events are concerned. The presence of two teams from the Puglia region greatly influenced the choice of the venue. There is no doubt that the Italian Serie A2 is a top quality league, probably the fifth or sixth strongest in the world”.
