Once again, Vibo came out victorious on its home court. It remained unbeaten on home soil as it only needed 1h19’ to sweep Verona, who was without outside hitter Gavotto but with Meoni back. Klapwijk was man of the match with 22 points and 61%, well assisted by Urnaut at 67% in attack for 13 points.
Marcello Forni (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “They have made a lot of changes, they adapted to all our rotations, but their attacking strength, without Gavotto, lost a lot of quality and consistency. Still, it was not easy to win 3-0, we are extremely satisfied with the result. Our block-dig combination made the difference, which consequently led to a better attack”.
Michal Rak (Marmi Lanza Verona): “Vibo played as a united group and they played very well in reception, they made it hard for us with their floater which we struggled to receive. We did not manage to react, maybe a little in the third set but today Vibo was the better team”.
