Just a few days before the transfer deadline, Piacenza found its missing middle blocker in the name of Emanuel Kohut. The latter made his pro debut in 2003 at Bratislava before moving abroad to Germany in 2007 with TSV Unterhaching. Treviso is the club that first brought him in Italy, while he also played for Latina and in the last two years for Cuneo. He can boasts two European League triumphs in 2008 and 2011 with Slovakia. This summer, he took part in the World League.

“I’ve decided to sign for Piacenza after seeing the team they are putting together – said Kohut – I believe the new signings as well as the players who stay are great professionals. I think this can be a very strong team, there is a lot of experience too in the group. I’ll play again with Papi, who was at Treviso with me for two years, he’s a great player, he still has so much to give and he’s one to look up to. I also played with Alletti one year, he is extremely talented”.
