Starovic the best of the quarter-finals
Sasha Starovic was elected the UnipolSai MVP of the SuperLega quarter-finals. The Serbian outside hitter born in 1988 helped Latina knock out the Italian champions of Treia thanks to road wins in game 1 and the deciding game 3, while they only lost game 2 at the tie-break. In three games the number 15 scored a total of 62 points (47 spikes, 7 aces and 8 blocks)
He will receive his award before semi-final game 2, scheduled on Tuesday April 28 at 8.15 in Frosinone.

Semi-final game 2
Game 1 of the semi-finals were as spectacular as expected. Two superb encounters took place in Trento and Modena as the home sides celebrated victories at the expense of Perugia and Latina respectively. Modena had to hold off Latina, who had come-back from 2-0 down to push it to a tie-break. More emotions guaranteed this Tuesday night in the second encounter of the series.

Aleksandar Atanasijevic firing from all angles at 47% for 26 points (2 aces) was not enough for Perugia to trouble the regular season champion in game 1. In spite of taking the first set and leading most of the third, Grbic’s men were literally blocked (17 blocks for Trento, 6 each for Birarelli and Solé). And they only won once in 9 attempts against Trento, it was away in March last year. And this season they have failed to win in four tries, but they will certainly not be discouraged and will give it a good fight at home in game 2.
