Another two important additions will come in to strengthen the squad coached by Placì: the Italian international Gabriele Maruotti and the German Simon Hirsch. Maruotti was picked up by Mario Barbiero who coached him in Velletri Volley before he went to Treviso’s youth academy. He had experiences at the highest level with Verona, Treviso, Padova, Roma, Cuneo, while he was last season at Perugia. At International level, he made his first appearance with Italy in May 2009 in a friendly against Slovakia (2-3). Since then he cumulated 72 caps, won silver at the European Championships 2011, the Bronze at the World League 2014 and the gold medal at the Mediterranean Game 2009. As for Hirsch, he spent his first season abroad in Sora last year in the A2. Before that, he won one German cup back home.
