Trentino’s run of pre-season friendlies before the Super Cup ended with a triumph in the first Villafranca tournalent. They had the better of Piacenza again but this time it was more comfortable. Not only was Trento at a different level but Piacenza had various players missing, so much so that they asked outside hitter Gabriele Nelli ‘on loan’ to Trento. Piacenza was without Hernandez, Zlatanova, Marshall, Manià and Yosifov.
« The team did a good job of maintaining its focus throughout the game in spite of the fact they had a Piacenza team without many of its starters in front – said coach Angelo Lorenzetti – We did our job and in the end of the third set we showed character. I want to underline the good performance from Nelli, who played against us today but made excellent plays ».
