« I really hoped and believed they could do it – said coach Tofoli about Italy and the Olympic Games final lost – I thought this could be our first gold ever. I think we just missed that little something to go over the hump. In the end the 3-0 Brazilian victory did not reflect the ongoing of the game because each set was very tight. Still, the silver medal is already an extraordinary achievement. Italy might not have played its best game because of the pressure but Brazil should have felt it more as it was home and could not afford to lose.
