With great pride, Volley Savigliano announces its second confirmation: Andrea Galaverna, a spiker from Cuneo born in 1994 in his second season in blue and white.
In the season just ended, Gala proved to be a true A3 man: after the muted start due to an abdominal injury, he took charge of the team, graduating from Savigliano top scorer with 436 points, of which 34 aces and among the top 10 “perfect” receptors in the whole category. For the next year he will have a right arm with whom to share the responsibilities (… we accept bets on who that might be !!) and it will be fun to see who will “win” in reception.
Andrea says he finished last season with a lot of regret for the relegation to the play-outs, but having always given a hard time to all opponents, even the most famous ones. According to him, the Saviglianese group paid for double commitments not being a professional (for Gala it was the first year with double commitment, work and volleyball) and the inexperience of the category, losing a few points too many, especially in head-to-head matches. It was really a shame because the company put a lot of effort into the new adventure.
Gala hopes the 22/23 season will be quieter but adds that you should never relax! For sure we will start with a better equipped team and hope for a better placement, the group is competitive and the young additions will certainly bring a lot of enthusiasm.
Like his friend Ciccio Dutto, Gala also tells us about a great number of successes and it is always difficult to choose: he won the Regions Trophy with Piedmont, Under 18 and Under 20 national youth championships with Cuneo; going to the bigger teams it was certainly an honor to be part of Power Volley Milano with which he made his debut in the A1 series and also to play the A2 play-off semifinals with Cuneo.
He too overlooks the most difficult moment … it takes optimism at the beginning of a new adventure !!!
When asked about his dreams, Gala still focuses on volleyball and wants to aim higher and higher, try to do the best with the Piedmont teams to which he is really attached. Then he adds that he always looks for the top even in life and at work. And we are ready to see him raise the bar for the next “Gala Show”!
