Giulio Magalini landed in Trento

For the 2023/24 season, the squad of the Itas Trentino men’s Champion of Italy will be able to count exclusively on young Italian talents in the spiker sector. It will in fact be Giulio Magalini, a twenty-one year old from Verona, who will complete the team of forwards in place 4, alongside Cavuto, Lavia and Michieletto.
For the hammer, taken from Verona Volley, it is to all intents and purposes a return to Trento and Trentino Volley, a club with which he had already played in a previous Serie A3 season in the 2019/20 year, playing in the ranks of UniTrento Volleyball. At that time Giulio was the main striker of the Gialloblù university team together with Alessandro Michieletto, with whom he shared the entire path of the Italian Youth National Teams (rich in gold, continental and world championship medals) and who he has found again in recent days in the jersey light blue; both are in fact in the group chosen by De Giorgi to compete in the second stage of VNL 2023, currently taking place in Rotterdam.
In the three seasons following that experience, Magalini constantly played in the formation of his hometown, in the SuperLega, finding more and more space as the 175 points scored in the last two championships tell us well. Complete player, particularly skilled in attack and serving, in Trento he will have the opportunity to make a further leap in quality.
“Magalini is a perfect element for the project we want to develop and for the environment that you will find in the gym every day; that’s why I immediately found myself in agreement with the management when they showed me great interest in him – said the Itas Trentino coach Fabio Soli – . He is a very strong boy physically; maybe in the last period he will have found little space on the pitch but I am convinced that he can have a brilliant future ahead of him. The fundamental of reception is certainly the one in which it can grow the most; working with patience and daily constancy, he will achieve great results even on the second line. More than a surprise, in my opinion, it will prove to be an added value for the group”.
