The generational change translates into the departure of another pillar of a Club that for years has enchanted the world of national and international volleyball. After five seasons, middle blocker Simone Anzani, assistant captain on the pitch, says goodbye to the Cucinari. For him a Club World Cup, two Scudetti and two Italian Cups in red and white, but also many finals and years as a protagonist thanks to a mix of muscles, head and a personality that also allowed him to climb to the top of Europe and the World with the Italian national team.

Simone Anzani: “I came to Civitanova after winning titles and Lube gave me the chance to continue lifting important trophies. Above all, the first three years were very prosperous for my Palmares and the kitchen board. In all seasons we fought until the end. I gave everything, as my teammates did, for the good of a club that always aims for the best. This was the most important experience of my career. In the Cucina shirt I grew both as a player, and this gave me the impetus to be a European and world champion with the national team, and as a person in terms of attitude, ability to sacrifice and mentality. I experienced the most important stages of my life in Civitanova, such as the conception of my daughters and the growth of Viola. From a sporting point of view, there remains regret for the year of Covid which blocked the tracks of the Lube locomotive in the Super League and the Champions League; I am convinced that without the suspension of tournaments at least one more title would have arrived. I want to thank the owners, club and collaborators, with whom I spent wonderful moments, and dedicate a hug to the fans who always made us feel their warmth, even in a less exciting year like the last one. I hug you tightly, Simo”
