Delta Volley Porto Viro’s second transfer: Lorenzo Sperotto, born in 1999 and 190 centimeters tall, has joined the team as setter. The setter, originally from Mirano, in the province of Venice, will form a black-and-fuchsia partnership with Diego Cantagalli, who has been a key figure at Rinascita Lagonegro over the past season and a half.
Produced in the youth academy of Volley Treviso, where he won two youth championships (Under-15 in 2014 and Under-17 in 2015, as MVP), Sperotto made his debut in senior volleyball at Club Italia, playing in three A2 championships between 2015 and 2018. After two seasons at Roma Volley between A2 and A3, in 2020/2021 he moved to Trentino Volley in the SuperLega, where he remained for two seasons, winning a Super Cup.
From 2022 to 2024, he played for Reggio Emilia in Serie A2, then moved to Palmi, still in the second national division. His Calabrian experience lasted only a few months: in November 2024, he moved to Lagonegro in Serie A3. With the Lucanian team, he immediately achieved promotion to Serie A2 and then, in the season just ended, qualified for the Coppa Italia and the playoffs. Sperotto played a total of 11 Serie A seasons, playing 256 matches and scoring 370 points.
The new black-and-fuchsia signing explained the reasons for his choice: “Receiving Delta’s offer was a source of great pride for me. The club has been competing in Serie A2 for many years, achieving significant results, and the possibility of contributing to the achievement of new prestigious goals next season immediately encouraged me to accept. Furthermore, after many years traveling around Italy, I am returning to Veneto, where I can finally be reunited with my family.”
