Trentino ended the group phase with a hundred percent record. It defeated the North American team of Paul Mitchell, which were already out of the race for the semi-finals. Three out of three means Trentino finishes top of its group, which should guarantee them an easier match up in the semi-finals.
“We wanted this victory in order to finish top of the group and we managed to do so saving energy at the same time, which will be vital for the semi-final – explained coach Stoytchev – I am extremely satisfied because even though I lined up an experimental starting six compared to the usual, our performance remained excellent. We knew our opponent would have tried it all in this game, but we stayed focused and mentally we faced the game with an excellent attitude.”
