Trento makes it 21. Monzawins in Verona and Vibo in Forli. Castellana Grotte back in contention to stay up after fifth consecutive win.

ANDREOLI LATINA – ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO 0-3 (20-25, 21-25, 19-25)

ANDREOLI LATINA: Kovacevic 3, Popelka 1, Kohut 6, Gitto, Sottile, Pieri (L), Spairani 5, Vujevic 12, Starovic 17. DNP Cortina, Nonne, Labardi. Coach. Medei.

ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO: Kaziyski 19, Leonardi, Birarelli 6, Della Lunga, Juantorena 13, Zygadlo, Vieira De Oliveira 1, Sala 4, Colaci (L), Stokr 21, Bari (L). DNP Sokolov, Garcia Pires Ribeiro. Coach. Stoytchev.

Trentino did not fail in its 400th official game of the club’s history. It obtained its 21st win running in Latina.

Daniele Sottile (Andreoli Latina): “Everybody knows how strong they are, but we could have done better, especially at the net and in dig. We might have stopped to believe in it at one point. We have to look ahead, focus on the coming games, because Castellana is getting more and more dangerous”.

Radostin Stoytchev (coach Itas Diatec Trentino): “In such games, our priority is to maintain a high level of play and concentration. We managed to do that tonight and we consequently took the three points. The aim right now is to continue to prepare for the Champions League Final Four as well as we can, grabbing victories but more importantly playing well and with the right mentality. There is still work to be done but we’re on the right track and performances like tonight’s proves it”.

YOGA FORLÌ – TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA 2-3 (19-25, 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 14-16)

YOGA FORLÌ: Falasca 29, Ricci Petitoni, Bacci, De Pandis (L), Ainsworth 14, Sintini 1, Kovacevic 7, Bellei 2, Caldeira 13, Oivanen 15. DNP Olivucci, Bovolenta. Coach. Molducci.

TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA: Rivera Caamano 10, Coscione 1, Suljagic 1, Anderson 25, Ferraro (L), Kindgard, Baroti, Simeonov 23, Barone 8, Fanuli (L), Nikolov 15. DNP Feroleto, Ananiev. Coach. Di Pinto.

Never ending game. It’s more a question of pride than points for Forli while Vibo Valentia was looking for its first win of the year. One point in the tie-break was the difference for Di Pinto’s team.

Graydon Ainsworth (Yoga Forlì): “We have to play one game at a time. We have to try our best against each team, that’s what we’ll do next Sunday against Monza. We have to stay calm, and try to gather as much as possible until the end of the season. We played well today, If we’d have won, nobody could have complained”.

Manuel Coscione (Tonno Callipo Vibo valentia): “I had a very good time in Forli but Vibo’s offer arrived before Forli decided what to do on the market. We are happy, even if it would have been better to take the three points. Still, we have obtained our first victory in 2011, useful to reach our target, which is to get into the top 8”.

BCC-NEP CASTELLANA GROTTE – COPRA MORPHO PIACENZA 3-1 (27-29, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20)

BCC-NEP CASTELLANA GROTTE: Milushev 21, Rak 11, Cozzi 13, Patriarca, Falaschi 2, Dvoranen 13, Rodriguez 14, Gallotta, Cicola (L). DNP Pagano, Guglielmi, Guerra, Torre. Coach. Gulinelli.

COPRA MORPHO PIACENZA: Popp 4, Marra (L), Gonzalez 7, Ruiz 10, Perazzolo 1, Nilsson 3, Massari 1, Zlatanov 15, Holt 10, Tencati 6, Boschi. DNP Piano. Coach. Lorenzetti.

Safety is very close after a fifth consecutive victory for Castellana over Piacenza. A brilliant performance at the net, a super Milushev and a team full of confidence were the key to this positive outing.

Fosco Cicola (BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte): “We are back in this championship and we’ll keep living everything until the end. We are happy with what we’re doing and the crowd is supporting us a lot too now. It was not easy either today either given how the first set went as they came back from behind serving very well and won it. Then, I think we deserved the victory because we dominated the following sets”.

Marcus Popp (Copra Morpho Piacenza): “We managed to win the first set with Ruiz’s serves then we did not manage to stay in the game. Castellana played very well and deserved the win. Our attitude was good before the game but that obviously was not enough”.

MARMI LANZA VERONA – ACQUA PARADISO MONZA BRIANZA 1-3 (25-22, 19-25, 24-26, 18-25)

MARMI LANZA VERONA: Latelli 1, Pajenk 14, Kosmina, Brunner 6, Meoni, Lasko 19, Smerilli (L), Lotman 9, Zingel 2, Cala Gerardo 11, Herpe 1. DNP Mazzi. Coach. Bagnoli.

ACQUA PARADISO MONZA BRIANZA: Rauwerdink 15, Pesenti, Forni 13, Buti 6, Rooney 8, Travica 3, Gavotto 18, Shumov, Exiga (L). DNP Cetrullo, Krumins, Molteni, Alborghetti. Coach. Monti.

Monza started off tense in the first set before stepping up a gear and using the serve of Exiga, who had another excellent performance and was named MVP.

Alen Pajenk (Marmi Lanza Verona): “We really started well this game, then we lost our focus and our serve did not work well tonight. Monza really had a good game after the first set while we struggled in reception, and we did not have any answer against their blocks”.

Simone Buti (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “The defeat against Castellana Grotte had hurt and today we struggled at the beginning of the set, we were tense, but then we found our rhythm. We definitely served well, just like we had done the first time we met Verona this season, we are happy to have won again. After the straight set loss of last week, it was important to get back on track. We’re chasing the fourth-fifth place which we’ll hopefully celebrate at the end of the regular season”.
