Past encounters: 5 (3-2 Monza)

Daniele Bagnoli (Casa Modena): “It’s obvious that Game 2 becomes more important for us than for them, almost decisive, so we’ll have more pressure on. We’ll have to deal with this pressure, turn it into positive energy. We’ll also have to play good volleyball because to win over Monza, you have to play well. They are offering a top level of play and they have great quality in block-dig. Having said that, in the last two games we proved that when we play at our best, we can play face to face and stay in the game. We have a couple of physical problems, we’ll see what the situation is tomorrow. Anyway, this will be an intense game, as I said, we’ll need to play well, limit our mistakes and convert the opportunities we’ll create. Hopefully, there will also be  a packed gym”.

Luca Monti (coach Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “Winning a third consecutive game against Modena would almost be like a pre-K.O. Obviously it won’t be easy, they will be eager to prove that they did not play at their level in the previous encounters, and it’s normal that they’ll want to take revenge. As for us, we are extremely excited, we are enjoying the moment. We enjoyed the victory and we want some more”.

Marmi Lanza Verona – Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo

(0-1)

Past encounters: 16 (11-5 Cuneo)

Lorenzo Smerilli (Marmi Lanza Verona): “It’s difficult to win a game when you concede so many aces. Congratulations to them, they served exceptionally well. We did not play with a good attitude and it will be important to rectify this on Sunday. Hopefully, there will be a lot of people supporting us, we need it. We have always played well in the second half of season at home and that’s why we want the fans to be there. We’ll definitely be more aggressive and have a different approach to the game”.

Alberto Giuliani (coach Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “In a difficult moment, the boys responded to perfection and gave their best. The attitude was good and the reaction on court in game 1 gives me good hops for the coming games, even if each game is unique. Still, this is the way to go. The medical staff and Wijsmans are working hard to get him back from his ankle injury: We’ll see on Sunday if our captain is ready to come back”.
