Latina conquers Sofia

16th of final first leg

CSKA Sofia (BUL) – Andreoli Latina (ITA) 0-3 (17-25, 14-25, 21-25)

CSKA SOFIA – ANDREOLI LATINA 0-3 (17-25, 14-25, 21-25)

CSKA SOFIA: Kiossev 2, Bonev (L), Grozdanov 6, Seganov 2, Stefanov 5, Kirchev 4, Georgiev 6, Manchev, Krachev 3, Barutov 6. DNP Nikolov, Iliev. Coach. Popov.

ANDREOLI LATINA : Rauwerdink 13, Rossini (L), Gitto 9, Sottile 2, Jarosz 13, Verhees 7, Troy 3, Fragkos 11, Guemart. DNP Patriarca, Noda Blanco, Cisolla. Coach. Prandi.

The score line leaves absolutely no doubt on the superiority of Latina in Sofia. The hosts did fight hard at the start of each set but Latina always came out on top. However, this victory does not guarantee the pass into the next round as two victories are needed according to the regulations. If Latina was to lose, a Golden set would be played.

Gianrio Falivene (President Andreoli Latina): “It’s great to start this way. We couldn’t have done any better, at the end we received the congratulations of Ljubo Ganev. Congratulations to them too for their superb fans, they never stopped to encourage their team. We could celebrate here with the Rondoni family so it was all perfect”.

Silvano Prandi (allenatore Andreoli Latina): “We played an intelligent encounter with decent level of play. We managed to control the game well. They got off to a good start but we found a way to respond and had a good attitude”.
