“You cannot rule the heart”. Giulio Sabbi is back in Molfetta. Currently with Blengini’s national team, he had worn the Molfetta shirt in 2013-14 and had become the idol of a whole city. He recorded a huge 441 points, right behind Atanasijevic and had shown a superb spirit in guiding the team.
“My experience in the club three years ago played a big part in my decision – said Sabbi – I really felt great there. It’s really like coming back home for me. I can’t deny that I had better offers in Italy and abroad. But I really wanted to stay in Italy and I know I’ll be fine at Molfetta. I did not think about the financial aspect in making my choice”.
In his career, the 27-year-old won the SuperCup 2014. He took the silver and bronze medal in the European Championships 2011 and 2015 with Italy, the silver medal in the World Championships 2015, the bronze in the Grand Champions Cup 2013 and the gold in the Mediterranean games 2013.
“I am so excited to come back, I hope to do even better than the first time I played here – he continued – Molfetta is a club that went a step further every season, and this is something important. They obtained exceptional results in the past two years. Hopefully, we’ll do as well and why not even better”.
