Robbert Andringa, the thirty-three year old Dutch spiker receiver from Assen, will wear the Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza shirt next season. A one-year contract for him. His arrival completes the spiker department available to coach Andrea Anastasi for the 2023-2024 season: Ricardo Lucarelli, Yoandi Leal, Francesco Recine and Robbert Andringa.

Robbert Andringa is in his first season in the Italian league, the last six he has played in Poland where he wore the shirt of AZS Olsztyn. He played in Holland with Lycurgus Groningen, in the Belgian championship where he won the Belgian Cup and the Belgian Supercup with Volley Aalst and in the French championship with Stade Poitevin Poitiers. Since 2010 he has been part of the Dutch national team now coached by the Italian Roberto Piazza and in this period he is involved in the VNL.

“After six seasons played in Poland – said Robbert Andringa – I felt it was time to take another step in my career, the Italian league is one of the most competitive in the world and I liked trying to play in Italy and live in Italy . When the call from Piacenza came, it didn’t take me long to say yes, among other things, my arrival in Piacenza has a curious background: I only saw one live match in Italy, many years ago at PalabancaSport, it was Piacenza -Cuneo, I’m now happy to be able to train and play in that sports hall and in one of the strongest teams in Italy and not only in Italy. I know that the Italian league is of a very high level, there are no easy games, all the teams are well equipped and capable of playing top-level volleyball, right now many of the best players on the planet are playing in Italy and I’m really excited about able to face this championship. I think I’m a complete player, work doesn’t scare me and I really want to improve, my strengths are reception and defense.”
