Former Cuneo coach Silvano Prandi went back to his old club with Latina for the Saturday night game. The hosts clinched what proved to be an exhausting game that lasted two hours and a quarter. It couldn’t have been any tighter except for the third set in which Cuneo made an incredible comeback without being able to make the last step. Alain Roca shined with 20 points and 67% in attack.
Nikola Grbic (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “I think we can take two positive things from this game: the win and the capacity to come out of a very tricky situation. We found it very hard to do just about anything, but in spite of making it difficult for ourselves we managed to find a way out and win this important game. There will be more games like this one, the important thing is to seal it the right way”.
Alain Roca (Andreoli Latina): “It’s been a great feeling for me, so nice to be back in a city that stays in my heart. We lost the game in the last two sets, in the fourth and fifth, when our reception was poor and we did not manage to contain their most dangerous spikers, Vissotto and Wijsmans. As for the rest, we had a good performance, shame we did not win it”.
