Good start to its Champions League campaign for Cuneo. Piazza’s boys came back from Romania with a 3-0 victory over Remat Zalau and registered its first three points. The first set was very tight and the Romanians had more than one opportunity to clinch it but once the Italians had the lead, they played more freely in the second and third set. Grbic orchestrated things fine as his spikers were consistent: Ngapeth had 19 and Sokolov 17. Zalau’s top scorer was De Almeida with 12 points.
Cuneo’s next game in the Champions League will be on October 31 against the French team of Sete.
