World Club Championships 2013

Trentino makes it into the top three teams of the World Club Championships for the fifth time running. In the game for third place, the holders had the better of UPCN San Juan 3-1. That is another prestigious result for Trento following their triumph in the Italian Super Cup. The Italians played with character and pride in the game nobody would like to be involved in. The success was built on some excellent blocking again (13) and the attack (56%). A sharp Sokolov scored 20 points.

Roberto Serniotti (Coach Trentino Diatec): “Overall we had a positive tournament. We’re still a bit disappointed with the semi-final but I think we can go back to Italy satisfied, knowing we have done absolutely everything we could. Games for third place are not always played seriously, but we really wanted the bronze so we went after it with character and determination. For such a young a new team like ours, this is something that could not be taken for granted”.
